Once again, there is merciless violence between homeless people in the city center of Vienna: in the city hall park, a 30-year-old Hungarian is said to have beaten a fellow countryman (43) until he lost consciousness. The victim suffered massive injuries to the face – the attacker was arrested.
Investigators say the bloody attack was likely preceded by an argument between the two men, with the 30-year-old allegedly knocking his opponent unconscious and then continuing to kick and punch him.
Massive facial injuries
The 43-year-old suffered serious injuries to his face and witnesses immediately alerted the emergency services. Police officers were able to immediately detain and arrest the suspect. The victim was taken to a hospital. “A motive is still unclear and is the subject of an ongoing investigation,” says police spokesman Markus Dittrich.
There have been repeated bloody attacks in the homeless community. In late July, a fight between two men in Sigmund Freud Park in Vienna-Alsergrund left a 53-year-old seriously injured. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the stomach.
