Police in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia are investigating multiple men in connection with an act of violence against an Iranian refugee. The 30-year-old victim was found seriously injured on Sunday evening on the grounds of a former brewery.
Shortly before midnight, residents heard screams from the former brewery “Iserlohner Pilsener”. The alerted police immediately went on patrol to the scene and found a seriously injured, tied up man, according to a report by bild.de. He showed signs of mass abuse and was taken to hospital.
Four suspects arrested, others believed to be on the run
In a forest near the crime scene, four suspects have been arrested as part of an alarm search. The citizenship of the men, aged 24, 34, 42 and 46, is still unknown. Two other suspects are said to still be at large.
What the Iranian had to go through on Sunday night is still being investigated. However, the police suggested that the victim could also have been raped.
