Protest in Breitenfurt – “Green pastures must not die for a mega project!”

The background: Six months ago, project manager Peter Klar presented the city council in the Mödling district with plans for a primary care center in the Vienna Woods on the waterworks site behind the current medical center. According to his ideas, there should be an underground parking garage and two floors above that – and thus an extension of the existing Praehab center.

The reason was suddenly too small
But suddenly the plans changed drastically. Klar now explained that he needed 8,000 square meters instead of the previous 2,000 – the property was too small. While he was looking for alternatives, a landowner promised him that he could also build on her “green meadow”. “Now he wants the community to open up”, says Rass-Hubinek, dismayed.
