“I didn’t want to kill her, I just wanted to scare her” – after the knife attack, the perpetrator was sentenced to twelve years in prison. According to forensic experts, the woman who had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter survived “only by a miracle”.
Like many marriages, things are starting to fall apart for the Hungarian couple living in Breitenbrunn. Yes, he “kicked her a little” in July 2023 after a disagreement, but overall she bruises easily.
“For example, when she hits herself against the table,” says the 42-year-old, who was given the approach and entry ban. He had to move out and the divorce eventually followed in January 2024.
“I just wanted to give my daughter a kiss”
The truck driver took an apartment 150 meters away from his ex. – so that their daughter would not have too much trouble when strangers brought her to her daddy. “She is the most important thing in my life. But my wife did not keep to the agreements,” says the Hungarian. “I wanted to see my daughter, to give her a kiss. Often it did not work.”
So there was a lot of stalking. Up to 100 calls a day, texts and voice messages every 15 minutes, no answer. The man suspected that his ex had someone else. “Even during the marriage. Her tablet was synced with her mobile phone.” The script was: “How can I get older men in bed?” Then he asked: “Is your police officer better than me?”
“It was just a scuffle”
On March 21, after writing a suicide note at home, the suspect allegedly grabbed a vegetable knife and drove to his ex’s house. When the child was handed over, she received a twelve-centimeter long and one-inch deep cut in her neck. “It was a struggle. I only had my pocket knife with me,” says the defendant, who was found guilty by the jury of attempted murder: twelve years in prison plus admission to a forensic therapy center.
The woman gets 19,040 euros and the child 10,000 euros. The verdict is not final.
