‘Difficult Youth’ – Defense of Ghislaine Maxwell asks for pardon

Date:

Defense attorneys have pleaded for leniency ahead of the conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, the ex-partner of the late US multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, in the abuse trial. Maxwell had a privileged but also “difficult and traumatizing” childhood and suffered under a “bossy, narcissistic and demanding” father, media mogul Robert Maxwell, the lawyers wrote to Judge Alison Nathan, according to US media reports.

That left her vulnerable to Epstein’s advances. Maxwell, 60, was indicted on six charges, including trafficking a minor for abuse, and was found guilty in late December. As a helper to her ex-partner Epstein, the British woman played a central role in building his ring for the sexual abuse of young girls, the jury in New York ruled.

The 60-year-old faces several decades in prison. The verdict is scheduled for June 28.

Prince Andrew also involved in the Epstein scandal
Epstein’s abuse of numerous minors is said to have taken place over decades at his properties in New York, Florida, Santa Fe and the Virgin Islands. The case also caused a stir in the United States because the very wealthy entrepreneur was known by celebrities such as ex-presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, billionaire Bill Gates and the British Prince Andrew.

A previous charge against him resulted in a deal that was very beneficial to Epstein. Outwardly, he has thus become a symbol of a social elite that can get away with anything. Even before there was a trial against Epstein himself, he committed suicide while in custody.
