The suspect confessed to the facts at the beginning of the trial. The statement of Dominique Pelicot has been postponed until at least Monday because he has been admitted to hospital due to deteriorating health.
One of the 50 men who are being tried in the French city from Avignon for the case of Dominique Pelicot, who drugged his wife with anxiolytics so that others could rape her while she was unconscious, accused of repeating the same practice with his own partner.
The suspect, Jean-Pierre M., 63, admitted at the beginning of the trial that he had given anxiolytics for your partner and then have sex with her multiple times in the company of Pelicot himself.
His daughter, who claims to have discovered what happened when her father was arrested, has said what happened was “unforgivable” and was convinced her father would not have carried out the practices if he had not met Pelicot.
The process which started on September 2 and will end in December, is focused on the files Pelicot had stored and that they were seized from him in September 2020, when he was arrested for taking recordings under the skirts of several women in a supermarket in the town of Carpentras.
The files contained hundreds of photos and videos showing Giselle Pelicot, the suspect’s ex-wife, drugged and sexually abused by dozens of men. They were able to identify fifty of them, who were sitting on the couch.
The main suspect, Dominique Pelicot will not be able to testify on Monday at least, after being admitted to hospital due to a deterioration in his health. His lawyers state that the statement will only concern the facts of which Jean-Pierre M. is accused and in which he is involved.
