In the Spanish state, the year-on-year figure was 2.3%, the lowest figure since July 2023. In addition, year-on-year growth in food was 2.5%, the lowest in almost three years.
The interannual CPI fell to 2.6% in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and 2.2% in Navarre in August, mainly due to lower fuel and food prices. The year-on-year growth of food production in the state stands at 2.5%, the least pronounced since October 2021.
According to data published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the year-on-year rate August was respectively three tenths lower than the interannual percentage recorded in July in the BAC (2.9%) and four tenths lower in Navarra (2.6%).
In monthly installments (from July to August), the consumer price index (CPI) in the BAC increased by 0.2%, while in Navarra it decreased by 0.1%.
