Terrible news Sunday morning from the regional hospital of Innsbruck and the district hospital Kufstein: Two people who were seriously injured in a serious accident on the Inntal motorway on Friday and were taken to hospitals, have died. The couple’s two-year-old child was also in the car.
Friday afternoon, as reported, a serious accident occurred between two cars on the A12 in the municipality of Langkampfen (Kufstein district). A 33-year-old Bosnian drove into the car of a 65-year-old local resident.
The car skidded, was lifted out after hitting a guardrail and came to a stop between tree trunks. Witnesses were able to rescue a two-year-old child and the 33-year-old driver from the vehicle. The child’s mother, a 27-year-old Bosnian woman, had to be freed from the car by the fire department.
Parents died in hospital
The 33-year-old was resuscitated on the spot and taken to the state hospital in Innsbruck. The woman also suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the district hospital in Kufstein. Then came the terrible news on Sunday morning: both parents died on the day of the accident from their serious injuries.
According to the police, the two-year-old child is still in the state hospital in Innsbruck. He is not injured.
