Around midnight, the situation in the Innsbruck apartment escalated completely – probably because the 30-year-old had had too much to drink. The drunken neighbor grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked his father with it.
Parents slightly injured
“The 68-year-old, together with his 63-year-old wife, managed to take the knife from the 30-year-old and make an emergency call,” the police said. Shortly afterwards, the son was arrested by the police without resistance. “He has since been taken to Innsbruck Prison,” the director said. The man’s parents were only slightly injured.
The motive is still unclear
Nothing was known about the motive so far. The arrested Austrian has so far refused to make a statement. “Alcoholism may have played a role,” the police explain, assuming that it was an attempted murder.
