The 217 passengers on a Lufthansa plane experienced anxious minutes on Monday. Due to an unexpected drop in pressure, the plane returned to Frankfurt Airport in the morning.
The plane with flight number LH438 was en route from Frankfurt to Dallas Fort Worth in the US, a Lufthansa spokesperson said when asked. “According to current knowledge, there were technical problems with the air pressure in the cabin during the flight north of Dublin.”
The plane started to descend
The cockpit crew therefore decided, for safety reasons and as is customary in such a case, to descend to an altitude of 10,000 feet (approximately 3,000 meters). The spokesman said that it was not necessary to use the oxygen masks.
The Airbus A330-300 with registration D-AIKL landed normally and safely in Frankfurt around 14:15. There was no danger to the safety of the flight at any time. The passengers would now be rebooked.
