Anyone who needs to travel to eastern Austria is currently struggling to do so overland. Austrian Airlines increased capacity on two flights between Innsbruck and Vienna on Tuesday.
Due to road closures and train cancellations caused by the heavy storms, it has been decided to use larger aircraft for the two flights, Austrian Airlines announced on Monday evening. Normally, an Embraer 195 would have been planned, which can seat 120 passengers. Instead, a larger Airbus A320 with 180 seats will fly on Tuesday.
The 60 additional seats are available on flight OS915 from Vienna to Innsbruck departing at 6:50 am and on flight OS916 from Innsbruck to Vienna departing at 8:25 am.
