After three bodies were found in a house in Perg on Friday, the autopsy confirmed what investigators had previously assumed: an 82-year-old shot his wife (75) and then himself in the head. The woman’s daughter (57) died some time later, the cause of death could no longer be clarified. According to the autopsy, however, there was no “mechanical impact”.
The bodies were discovered after a family friend became concerned. She and a neighbor called emergency services, who opened the house.
The autopsy confirmed what investigators had already assumed: the murder-suicide incident, involving a long gun, probably took place in late August. The woman’s severely disabled daughter probably lived in the house with the dead for some time. She died later, the autopsy showed.
The cause of death remains a mystery
The cause of death of the 57-year-old could no longer be determined. However, a mechanical impact – that is, injury from a fall, for example – has been ruled out. Although the bodies of her mother and stepfather have been positively identified, hers has not yet been identified.
However, investigators have no doubts about her identity, nor about the course of the crime and that there was no fourth person involved in the incident.
