Horror in Kindberg, Upper Styria: A 14-year-old confessed to killing his brother (36) with an axe. The results of the autopsy are now available: 17 powerful blows left the victim no chance of survival. The suspect was taken into custody.
One to ten years in prison is the sentence that awaits the 14-year-old R., who confessed to killing his own brother on Monday. The 36-year-old was badly hit; the murder weapon, a ‘Viking axe’, was still in the backpack of the young man who was a strong suspect. Although the axe was only a decorative object, it had a sharp edge on both sides.
Man bled to death after being hit
After the autopsy on Wednesday, it was clear: the victim died of an air embolism and bled to death at the crime scene, the family home in the Mürzhofen district of Kindberg. “At least seventeen powerful blows to the head resulted in death,” Viktoria Steinecker from the Leoben Public Prosecutor’s Office told the “Krone”.
The student – who reportedly attended the Poly in Kapfenberg – also made a full confession during the mandatory interrogation on Wednesday.
The judge then imposed pre-trial detention on R., who had already been transferred to Leoben prison on Tuesday.
