Bizarre incident in the air: A plane landed unscheduled in Copenhagen because there was a mouse on board. According to one passenger, the rodent jumped out of a meal that was being served.
In a Facebook post, the Norwegian wrote that the rodent jumped out of the food offered to his seatmate during the flight when she opened the package. The SAS plane was en route from Oslo to Malaga on Wednesday.
Security alarm activated
As Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported, the plane was in German airspace when passengers spotted the mouse. Shortly after, passengers were told over a loudspeaker that there was a safety risk and that the plane would therefore turn around and land in Copenhagen.
An SAS spokesman confirmed this to the newspaper “Fædrelandsvennen”. This is standard procedure when there is vermin on board. According to NRK, the passengers arrived at their destination in southern Spain two and a half hours late.
