Head injury – three swimmers save man (36) from drowning

It is thanks to three young boys that a man did not drown after passing out while bathing in the Ager near Schörfling in Upper Austria. The 36-year-old was pulled unconscious from the water.

The 36-year-old Amsterdammer went swimming on Saturday at the Ager in Schörfling am Attersee. He wanted to go into the water around 6 pm, but he said he blacked out when he got in. He fell over, hurt his head and fell headfirst into the water.

In the immediate vicinity were three young men (one 16-year-old and two 18-year-olds) who were also there for a swim. They noticed a large amount of blood at the entrance and saw the 36-year-old floating motionless in the water. They immediately entered the river, pulled the victim from the Ager and called the rescue squad. The exhausted man was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck together with the emergency doctor.
