Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has arrested 12 people on suspicion of spying for Israel’s foreign intelligence service Mossad. The suspects are believed to have been involved in planning attacks.
The people were arrested in six different Iranian provinces. It was not stated when this happened. The men were trying to gather secret information and pass it on to the Mossad, the Revolutionary Guards said. Details about the identities of the alleged agents were not provided. It also remained open what secret information they were supposedly trying to gather and pass on.
Suspected Mossad agent executed
Those arrested could even face the death penalty if convicted. In March, an alleged Mossad agent was executed in a similar case. He was accused of planning an attack on a Defense Ministry facility.
