Trial in Styria – 21-year-old stabbed gas station attendant: attempted murder

Date:

A 21-year-old woman from Styria stabbed the cashier seven times (!) during a gas station robbery in Liezen – while the employee had already handed over all the money to her. The young woman, who is said to be extremely dangerous, is to stand trial in Leoben for attempted murder.

The Public Prosecution Service has accused the 21-year-old of two robberies at the same gas station and attempted murder. Both robberies were similar. Armed with a knife, she attacked the cashiers, once in September 2023 and once in March 2024.

The victim survived only by chance
While the robber spared the employee in the first attack, she nearly killed the cashier on duty in her second attack. “According to the prosecutor, some of the seven stab wounds were inflicted on the woman’s head and chest. It was purely coincidental that she did not sustain life-threatening injuries,” says the media spokesman for the regional court in Leoben, Bernhard Zechner.

The 21-year-old woman is said to have committed both acts under the influence of a mental illness, which still makes her dangerous. The suspect has so far denied the brutal attacks. And that despite the fact that the robbery investigators of the State Criminal Investigation Department even found the clothing of the crime in her apartment.

The trial will take place at the end of September in Leoben.
