Selection from the “Krone” series – Stefan Kaineder: The slightly different green

Date:

Everyone knows the top candidates. But who are the men and women who pull the strings of the election campaign in the background? The “Krone” introduces the “masterminds in the second row”. This time, Green Party vice-chairman Stefan Kaineder talks about the concretization, the new unity and whether he will become the new party leader.

Stefan Kaineder goes against what many people imagine as a “typical Green”. The 39-year-old studied theology, grew up on a farm in a Christian-social household and is a true pragmatist who prefers hard results to philosophical debates. In the current election campaign, the Mühlviertler, deputy federal spokesman for the Greens and successor to Rudi Anschober as regional councilor in Upper Austria, plays a key role.
