A driver lost control of his vehicle on the Inntal Autobahn (Tyrol) on Tuesday, probably due to microsleep. He “shaved” several bushes over a length of 120 meters before the journey ended at a tree.
On September 24, a 72-year-old Austrian man and his wife, a 57-year-old Austrian, were driving a car on the Inntalautobahn in Radfeld, heading east in the first lane.
Lenker freed himself
At around 11:25, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a microsleep. He continued to move to the right beyond the hard shoulder and collided with several bushes along the dike before crashing into a tree on the slope of the dike after 120 meters. The driver remained unharmed and was able to free himself from the car after the collision, while his wife had to remain in the vehicle with injuries of unknown nature until the FFW Kramsach arrived.
Woman seriously injured
The car was totaled. It had to be rescued from the dike by a crane by the towing service and the FFW Kramsach. The 57-year-old passenger received first aid at the scene of the accident from the emergency medical service and was then taken to the BKH Kufstein.
