Letters missing – postal customer has been looking for his letters for a month

Date:

The post office has something for everyone, or at least almost everyone. Because Upper Austrians are currently experiencing delivery problems. An Ofteringer has been looking for a letter for a month. And in Wels, a ‘Krone’ reader found two bags full of mail in the middle of the sidewalk.

After the “Krone” message that the mailbox of a Linzer had been empty for at least two weeks, other readers also reported delivery problems. For example, Rudolf K. from Oftering, who should have had two registered letters from the court in his hands long ago.

No letters despite the pick-up slip
However, he was not at home when the delivery took place on August 29th and went to the post office the next day with the yellow collection slip. But the two letters were not there.

“I drove to several post offices and was also at the distribution center. But the letters are nowhere to be found. So I drove to the courthouse myself and picked up the letters there,” said the irritated customer. Almost a month later, the letters remain missing and the post office apologized in a letter that the area investigation was unfortunately not successful.

“Unfortunately a mistake by the delivery person”
Meanwhile, a Welser stood in the middle of the sidewalk on Adlerstrasse in Wels in front of two bags full of mail. There was no sign of a postal worker. “You can clearly see that there are mail items in it. If you lift the bag a little, you can also see election envelopes,” the reader said.

The post office says: “We are talking about the unfortunate mistake of a delivery person who did not put the bags away properly after finishing work too late. These bags mainly contain advertising! The delivery person always carries important items, such as voting cards or climate bonus letters, in a closed container.”
