A neighbor in the coastal town of Colònia de Sant Jordi heard screams on Wednesday evening and alerted the police, several regional newspapers reported. When officers arrived at the stricken country house, they discovered the body of the 74-year-old Swiss woman in a pool of blood. Her former son-in-law was the only other person in the house and was therefore immediately arrested.
The 47-year-old has a criminal record and is now in a cell at a police station. He must be brought to justice.
