A spectacular incident took place at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Saturday. An Airbus suddenly caught fire during landing. The machine pulled in a huge cloud of smoke. All 190 passengers on board were shocked.
Flight F9-1326 took off from San Diego on Saturday. After just over 50 minutes, the Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 landed in Las Vegas. While taxiing on the runway, large flames suddenly erupted from the right main landing gear, according to a video from an eyewitness (see below).
Video of the landing approach:
When the A321 came to a stop, the flames were no longer visible, but thick, dark smoke rose. The flight crew had already noticed smoke and alerted the rescue services. After the plane stopped, they drove over and sprayed extinguishing fluid into the landing gear.
190 passengers on board
All 190 passengers and seven crew members were able to leave the A321 via the passenger stairs. “The cause of the incident is currently under investigation,” Frontier Airlines told local press. Harry Reid International Airport spoke of a “hard landing” for flight F9-1326.
