Airstrike on Beirut – Israel “eliminates” Hezbollah commanders again

Date:

The Israeli army says it has killed another senior representative of the Iran-backed radical Islamist Hezbollah militia in Lebanon. The commander of Hezbollah’s headquarters, Suhail Hussein Husseini, was neutralized in an attack near Beirut, the army said in a statement on Tuesday.

As fighting between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies, China will deliver urgently needed medical supplies to Lebanon. “At the request of the Lebanese government, the Chinese government has decided to provide Lebanon with urgently needed medical supplies to support the country’s medical care,” the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency said.

Israel increases its troops
The Israeli military said it had recently increased its troop numbers in Lebanon. The army announced on Monday that a new division has been sent to take part in operations against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The soldiers of the 91st Division began “local and targeted operations in southern Lebanon.” It is the troop grouping of the strength of the third division that is being deployed against Hezbollah.

The Israeli army urged the people of Lebanon to stay away from the Awali River south of the Mediterranean coast. The warning, distributed in Arabic, covered both beaches and boats. The Awali River flows into the Mediterranean Sea about halfway between Beirut and the Israel-Lebanese border.
