Associations of hotels, companies, hoteliers and tourist institutions Gipuzkoa have demanded “the immediate adoption” of measures to resolve the problems “growing taxi problem” in the territory to be able to offer a quality service, and they confirm that this is a requirement “concerns the entire population”.
Hotels in Gipuzkoa, the Association of Owners of Catering Businesses, the Association for Tourist Apartments Aparture and the Gipuzkoa Merkatariak Federation published a statement this week in which they assured that this province “does not have a public taxi service that guarantees for users in its determination, regardless of the reasons justifying its use”.
They warn of “the many incidents” registered in Gipuzkoa this summer, which “make it essential to take measures aimed at providing a high-quality public taxi service” that ensures customers “arrive at a work meeting, reaching a flight and returning from dining or attending a cultural or professional event.
These organizations are not aware of ‘all the keys’ to the problem and although they are aware of ‘recent attempts to solve the problem’, they warn that ‘the reality is that the problem is only getting worse’. For this reason, they urge “all those involved” to take “immediate” measures, either ‘in the form of organization/regulation of services, expanding the number of licenses or by the arrival of new service providers”.
