– Nobel Peace Prize: The Swedish Academy has announced the name of the winner of the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize, which was awarded last year to Iranian activist Narges Mohamadi. For this year, 286 applications have been submitted, of which 197 relate to individuals and the remaining 89 to organizations. Zelensky, Guterres, Tijanovskaya, UNRWA, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Council of Europe.
– Israeli attack on a UN barracks: There is still no response to the Israeli army’s direct attack on a watchtower of the UNIFIL headquarters, the UN mission in Lebanon, which injured two Indonesian soldiers. European states that participate in UNIFIL speak of ‘war crimes’. Italy is the largest European contributor to the mission, with 868 participants, ahead of Spain.
