A 22-year-old was stabbed five times by her ex-boyfriend (25) in Ebelsberg (Upper Austria). She managed to escape to a house and survived the brutal attack – the suspect is in custody. Now a further report will clarify whether the injuries were life-threatening.
In August, a ‘conversation’ between a 25-year-old Serb and his girlfriend (22) ended in a bloody attack. The man – he had come to Linz especially from his home country – is said to have stabbed the woman five times with a kitchen knife. The seriously injured Serbian managed to escape in her car. She later dragged herself into a stairwell in Linz, where residents administered first aid.
Ex-boyfriend wanted to commit suicide
The alleged perpetrator then injured himself with the knife, with suicidal intentions, as he later stated, before being arrested by the rapid intervention group. Both the victim and the suspected perpetrator were immediately taken to hospitals and underwent emergency surgery. A few days later the Serb was taken into custody, where he is still being held.
Only process when the report is ready
However, no trial will take place in the near future. The reason: “Another report was commissioned. This is intended to clarify whether the injuries the woman suffered were potentially life-threatening to her and whether consequential damage is to be expected,” Ulrike Breiteneder, spokeswoman for the Linz Public Prosecutor’s Office, told the “Krone”.
