Lina disappeared on September 23 last year in Alsace, France, on her way to the train station in Saint-Blaise-la-Roche, from where she wanted to travel to Strasbourg. But she never got on the train. Now her body has been found in a waterway under a dike in a remote forest, 400 kilometers from where she disappeared.
According to current research, Lina was murdered by a man named Samuel G. ( 43). On the day she disappeared, she allegedly met him by chance, after which he kidnapped her. The suspected perpetrator drove a stolen Ford. Investigators determined that he was also at the site where her body was found the day after Lina disappeared.
DNA traces discovered in trunk
At the end of July, investigators found DNA traces of Lina and her handbag in the trunk of the vehicle. They also discovered two ropes he had used to tie up the teen.
Evaluation of location data led to search success
Based on suspect location data, investigators specifically searched forest areas where the suspect’s car had been stationary for a long time. That’s where they found the body.
Samuel G. had to appear in court on July 22 this year for several violent robberies, but committed suicide after his vehicle was seized. He has undergone psychiatric treatment several times in the past. Before his suicide, he had kept silent about Lina.
