The Innsbruck Medical University website is back online after a hacker attack. Meanwhile, the investigations of the State Criminal Investigation Department of Tyrol are continuing at full speed. However, the findings so far are silent.
“More and more IT services are going back online,” APA’s Meduni spokeswoman Barbara Hoffmann-Ammann said on Wednesday. Neither the university nor the police, which had launched an investigation, would provide information on the details and background. This happened for ‘tactical reasons’, according to the organization.
New passwords for everyone
Since Tuesday, new passwords have been issued to some 3,500 students and 2,200 employees. The password assignment is “going well,” reports Hoffmann-Ammann. Students can collect their new password in person on presentation of their student card in the foyer of the Audimax at Fritz-Pregl-Straße 3 in Innsbruck until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
The hacker attack, which took place on Saturday and became known Monday evening, resulted in a “limitation of IT services”. The current state of affairs was communicated via a specially designed website.
