The ‘Krone’ report into the assault of a first-grade student on his teacher at a primary school in Austria’s southernmost state is causing a stir. Carinthia’s education director speaks openly about the current problems – and speaks from the hearts of teachers.
A six-year-old student with a migrant background at a Carinthian primary school panics for no reason – attacks his teacher, punches her in the face and also attacks a classmate. The police are alerted, the teacher receives medical attention and as a (temporary) consequence, the first year class is suspended until the end of the autumn holidays. It is still unclear what will happen next to the boy.
