The union ESK has reported the fall of part of the ceiling of the admission room of the Hospital de Cruces, in Barakaldo (Bizkaia), which reopened to the public this Monday after renovation.
As the union said in a note, the detachment did not cause any personal injury to workers on site, although it described what happened as “very serious”.
She has also requested the closure of the adjacent work area until the situation is assessed and the safety of workers can be guaranteed.
Sources of Ministry of Health of the Basque government have in turn indicated that some “slabs” can be removed from the roof they have “let go” and that’s why we went to see them all.
The Cruces Hospital reopened its main access via the Plaza de Cruces this Monday following a renewal of the Admissions, SAPU (Patient and User Care) and tion Unit services.
ESK recalled that this space was subsequently opened last Monday “Six months of work and 1.5 million” investment in renovation. As he emphasized, “fortunately there have been no reported physical injuries” among workers performing their duties in the recording area.
