Two serious industrial accidents occurred in Upper Austria on Tuesday. In Rohrbach, a 58-year-old fell from the roof of his own house and was fatally injured. In Munderfing, an 18-year-old slipped, fell and hit the building owner.
In Rohrbach-Berg, the 58-year-old wanted to throw Styrofoam panels from the second floor of the building onto the forecourt of the garage at the construction site of his house around 3:15 p.m. Possibly for unknown reasons, he lost his balance and fell to the ground from a height of six meters, sustaining fatal injuries.
In Munderfing, an 18-year-old student and some colleagues were busy tiling the roof of a house on a construction site. The boy must have slipped and fallen from the roof on the second level of the scaffolding.
Fall on builders
He then fell about four meters between the scaffolding and the house wall. Just then the builder went out through the front door and was met by the apprentice. The 18-year-old suffered injuries of an undetermined nature and was taken to the accident hospital in Salzburg. The 40-year-old builder was slightly injured and initially did not require medical attention.
