On nice days there is often too much solar energy on the electricity grid – and there is more to come. Private owners of solar panels do not have to worry. The “Krone” knows why this is the case. However, the expansion of the electricity grid and larger energy storage facilities are still pending.
The grid operators have announced that large private PV systems will have to be scaled back if there is an oversupply of solar energy. The concern of small feeders: “Should private parties be afraid that they will be allowed to feed less because of such large production areas?” the “Krone” asked Energie AG, and they promised: “No, private feeders will not do that. However, networks and storage options need to be expanded – and I am not talking about the 12 kW storage in the basement.
