In one day, Nadine Wallner from Vorarlberg skied five freeride descents on the Arlberg, with a total of 3,000 vertical meters. In an interview with Krone+ she explains why she appreciates her ‘home mountain’ so much and what it takes to assert herself as a woman in extreme sports.
The English word ‘backyard’ is translated as backyard or garden behind the house – this is exactly how freerider Nadine Wallner describes the Arlberg in Vorarlberg. It is her “home mountain”, and although she normally travels around the world with her boards, she was especially looking forward to a project at home: in one day she skied five freeride descents with her fellow mountain guides Yannick Glatthard and Dino Flatz for a total of 3000 meters in height and 29 kilometers in length. The camera was always there, delivering amazing images that sent adrenaline flowing through the viewer’s veins.
