In the Philippines, a Frenchman ordered child abuse

Date:

The next serious case of abuse is shaking France up: a 59-year-old Frenchman is said to have ordered hundreds of rapes of girls in the Philippines and followed them live via livestream on his computer. He is accused of complicity in the rape of minors, sexual harassment and complicity in human trafficking.

The trial of the famous French film animator is being held before a jury in Paris.

Victim unknown despite investigation
As the defendant’s lawyer, Jane Peissel, told broadcaster BFMTV, her client confessed to all the terrible acts he was accused of, which he ordered via the Internet. Investigators found videos of the girls on the man’s cellphones and computers. Despite all investigations, the victims could not be identified.

Women had to abuse girls
In total, the defendant is said to have transferred around 50,000 euros to the Philippines since 2016, probably to pay women to abuse young girls between the ages of five and fifteen in front of cameras on his behalf, broadcaster France Info reports. The suspect himself, who described himself during interrogation as a “real pedophile”, spoke about 10,000 euros with which he paid at least 24 women for the abuse, which he viewed via WhatsApp or Skype.

Expert: Philippines “A windfall for Western customers.”
The abuse of children via livestream has increased significantly recently, especially in the Philippines, spokeswoman for the anti-child abuse association Cameleon, Socheata Sim, told the magazine ‘JDD’. “The Philippines is a popular destination: precarious family circumstances, silent victims, a good internet connection, a windfall for Western clients.”

The spokeswoman referred to information from the Philippine government that the number of reports of pedocriminal content has increased by 200 percent during the corona pandemic.
