Shortly afterwards, a dangerous threat is said to have occurred during a chance meeting between the feuding clans. The feud kept a criminal court busy again on Tuesday – in varying roles.
“Blood for blood,” shouted the shot victims after the jury in Vienna acquitted the father (54) and three of his sons of attempted murder and convicted them ‘only’ for (intentionally) causing grievous bodily harm. For that wild shooting on the street in Floridsdorf that kept the federal capital in suspense on the evening of October 7, 2023. It turned out that a fight between two families from the former Yugoslavia escalated: three opponents suffered gunshot wounds.
The sentences were handed down at the end of June, which did not please the victims at all. Shortly afterwards, an incident occurred that brought the feuding families back together in court on Tuesday. In the LG Korneuburg (Lower Austria), a gunshot victim at the time, a former MMA fighter, is accused of dangerous threats.
A chance encounter during a day of shopping with the whole family
The 29-year-old son of the ex-builder who wounded the MMA fighter’s brother with a knife in the shooting in Floridsdorf was released at the beginning of July. Then on July 13 there was a chance meeting with the now accused former gunshot victim at the G3 shopping center in Gerasdorf.
“It was the first time he went out after prison,” the man’s wife remembers the trip with her mother-in-law and child as witnesses. When the MMA fighter saw his opponent, he became aggressive: “He said we had to go outside and I would get the knife back. It will get to me, the matter is not over yet,” said the builder’s son.
The witnesses cannot concretely confirm the threats, which is why Johannes Fouchs’ client is acquitted. There is no end in sight to the feud.
