Japanese electronics giant Sony is expanding its range of true wireless earbuds with a model aimed primarily at athletes: Linkbuds Fit. Thanks to a small silicone “claw”, they promise a better grip in the ear, even at full gallop. You still don’t have to go without noise cancellation, high-resolution audio, surround sound and capable 8.4 millimeter drivers. Krone+ tried out the new athlete-in-ears.
Sony’s new Linkbuds Fit are extremely light in the ears, weighing just 4.9 grams each. The built-in audio drivers are the same as in Sony’s luxury in-ears with the awkward name WF-1000XM5, so they have a lot to hope for in terms of sound. During exercise, the silicone claw on the plugs, which, unlike the sister model Linkbuds Open, fit snugly in the ear, ensures a secure fit and prevents them from falling out too easily. The new plugs impressed during the test when it came to wearing comfort. But they have another problem.
