All six people on board were killed in a helicopter crash in West Virginia. It is not yet clear why the Bell UH-1B helicopter crashed Wednesday evening.
The helicopter that crashed in West Virginia was carrying tourists. A resident of the crash site told broadcaster WSAZ that she called an ambulance and then ran to the crash site in Logan County. There she saw the burning helicopter.
For the prisoners, however, the agreed help came too late. All six died. It is not yet clear why the helicopter crashed. The National Transport Safety Authority has announced that it will send an investigation team to the accident site.
The Bell UH-1B helicopter was developed in the 1950’s and used by the United States military in the Vietnam War.
