The murder charges against Amanda Knox caused a stir around the world seventeen years ago. The American is now filming a TV series about the murder in Perugia, Italy, in which British exchange student Meredith Kercher died in 2007. Monica Lewinsky is on board.
Filming is currently taking place in Orvieto and will take place in Perugia from Tuesday to Friday. The series is set in different locations in the historic center of Perugia.
American actress Margaret Qualley (29, “Poor Things”) will play the role of Knox, who was acquitted of suspicion of murder, in the eight-part miniseries. The series is produced by Knox himself, Qualley and also Monica Lewinsky.
Lewinsky had already worked on the series ‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’, which depicted former US President Bill Clinton’s sex affair with the then White House intern more than two decades ago.
Knox is now a mother of two children
Knox, 37, who is now a mother of two, chronicled her experiences in her 2013 memoir, Waiting to be Heard.
The former student’s story was also the focus of a Netflix series and the Lifetime movie “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy.”
