Donations collected – The magic of Christmas: help for Julia (19)

Date:

A very special gift awaited Julia in the Weinviertel: Postbus employees raised money during Advent to care for the 19-year-old.

Courageous assistance in an emergency now put a smile on Julia’s face in the Weinviertel. The 19-year-old has faced many challenges in her young life.

In addition to a congenital heart defect and a genetic defect, the young woman cannot walk or speak and she also completely lost her sight after several retinal detachments about a year ago. Julia is therefore dependent on care and support 24 hours a day. Her family cares for her lovingly and selflessly.

To make the daily life of the 19-year-old and her family members easier, special aids such as a wheelchair, a wheelchair ramp and a walking trainer are indispensable. The joy was all the greater about the active support of her great-uncle Robert Hendrych around Christmas.

It soon became clear to the mailbox driver and his colleagues from Hollabrunn and Poysdorf that they would help Julia this time as part of the annual fundraising campaign. Without further ado, an employee of the Poysdorf traffic center organized a punch stand during Advent. 2300 euros were raised for charity.

Two days before Christmas, the money was given to Julia and her mother as the perfect Christmas gift. As a small buffer for the additional financial burden of the required care. For years, Postbus employees have been showing their humanity through the Christmas fundraiser.

Punching for a good cause
To this end, an annual fundraising campaign is organized for people in need or people with special needs. As for Julia. Who, thanks to the support, has been able to enjoy the Christmas magic.
