After the Innrain campus and the police security center, BIG is building the House of Physics in Innsbruck. Exploratory drilling is currently taking place in the west of Innsbruck and construction will start in the spring of 2025. The lead time was approximately 20 years, so there is still hope for the MCI.
With the House of Physics, a large and modern center for natural sciences is being built in Innsbruck. It will be built on the Technikerstrasse campus of the University of Innsbruck and is expected to enter service in the winter semester of 2028. The architectural competition called for urban integration into the existing campus, while at the same time building a particularly climate-friendly new university building. The architectural firm “Mohr Niklas Architekten” met these requirements.
