The Court of Audit has revealed unprecedented mismanagement at the Graz government insurance company KFA. Now even more chilling details have emerged. For example, the wife of the old director was allegedly sent for treatment – and without any permission.
In its report published on Thursday, the Graz City Audit Office (RH) led by Hans-Georg Windhaber dismantled the Graz City Health Care Institute (KFA) on almost 100 pages – we reported. According to the auditors, the administrative system is “completely outdated, uneconomical and very error-prone”. The organization is ‘unstructured’, the economic situation is ‘precarious’ and the IT is also ‘hopelessly outdated’.
Apparently there were no control mechanisms, because as early as 2005 (!) the RH made a large number of recommendations, but they were all ignored. Part of the latest report also contains redacted passages classified as ‘confidential’. Nevertheless, individual criticisms have now reached the public.
