During a rafting trip in Landl (Liezen district of Styria), a 13-year-old girl from Weiz was seriously injured when she jumped into the Salza River. She had to be taken by rescue helicopter to Linz General Hospital. Her condition is stable.

A group of 40 students from the Weiz district went on a guided rafting tour in Landl (Liezen district) on Thursday morning. In the area of ​​the Palfauer Wasserlochklamm, the rafting company also offered a jump from a wooden springboard. The 13-year-old took the offer, but slipped and fell about five meters uncontrollably.

The girl suffered head injuries. The supervisors present and the emergency services (Landl and Wildalpen mountain rescue) provided first aid to the injured in the riverbank area. The rescue helicopter took the student to the AKH Linz. Her condition is stable.

Further investigation by the Alpine Police
The Alpine Police Liezen is now conducting further investigations into the course of the accident. As of the current status of the investigation, there is no evidence of third party negligence. The group of students and the counselors were received by the Styrian crisis intervention team.
