A boy of just nine started driving a tractor on a farm in the Mühlviertel. A fatal accident happened to him: he ran over his mother. The seriously injured woman was taken to hospital.
The tractor had to be driven out of a garage by the nine-year-old for mowing work. The boy’s mother gave him instructions as she stood to the left of the tractor cab. For reasons still unclear, the tractor did not reverse after starting as intended, but “jumped” forward, the nine-year-old said.
Accident victim reacted
The 45-year-old woman partially came under the left rear tire of the tractor and was seriously injured. She reacted quickly and was able to confirm the course of the accident, as described by her son. The rescue helicopter “C10” flew the injured to the UKH Linz after the emergency medical team’s first aid and rescue.
