Dramatic accident in Feldkirchen an der Donau (Upper Austria): On Sunday evening, a diver initially went missing in the Mühldorfweiher – a fishing lake. A little later the sad certainty: rescuers have pulled the man ashore. Unfortunately, all help came too late for him.
On Sunday around 5 p.m., eight fire brigades and water rescue teams went to work on a large scale at the Mühldorfweiher near the swimming lakes in Feldkirchen an der Donau. A diver disappeared into the water next to a golf course, which is popular with fishermen.
Attempts at resuscitation failed
Boats and searchlights illuminated the lake, rescue divers jumped into the icy water. Shortly afterwards they were able to rescue the missing person and bring him to shore. Unfortunately, all resuscitation attempts that Sunday evening were unsuccessful: the diver died at the scene of the accident.
It is still unclear how the terrible accident could have happened.
