17 years after the premiere of the very first Kindle, the introduction of the Kindle Colorsoft should have been a cause for celebration for Amazon. But the retail giant failed to launch the first e-book reader with a color display. A yellow tint is the least of the problems.
The reviews on the online retailer’s website speak for themselves: Only 29 percent of the just over 130 reviews received so far are currently enthusiastic about the new Kindle Colorsoft. The e-book reader has so far achieved only 2.9 out of five possible stars – and is therefore significantly behind Amazon’s monochrome competition. However, the yellow tint on the bottom of the screen, which is criticized by many buyers for giving the device a low rating, is still the least of the problems with the new Kindle.
