“Join the Fight” – Sarah Palin Wants to Run for US Congress

Date:

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin wants to represent the US state of Alaska in the state house in Washington. “America is at a tipping point,” the supporter of ex-President Donald Trump said on Facebook on Friday. “When I saw the far-left ravaging the country, I knew I had to stand up and join the fight.”

As the largest state by area, Alaska has only one of the 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives due to its low population density. Republican Don Young held the position for 49 years before his sudden death in March. The US Congressional midterm elections are scheduled for November.

Former Governor of Alaska
Palin, 58, served as governor of Alaska from 2006 to 2009. She ran for the White House in 2008 with Republican candidate John McCain. However, the Republican duo lost to Barack Obama and his then Democratic Party running mate Joe Biden.

She resigned as governor in 2009 and went on to work as a political commentator for Fox News and as an activist for the right-wing populist Tea Party movement. She is a self-proclaimed fighter against the establishment and is widely regarded as Trump’s political predecessor.

Divorce, “South Park” and “Masked Singer”
Palin always causes a stir outside of politics, too. In 2019, her husband filed for divorce after 31 years of marriage due to “different temperaments.” He argued that the different qualities made it “impossible to live together as husband and wife.”

In the animated series “South Park” she was featured in the episode “Obamas Eleven” as a professional thief who steals the Hope Diamond from the Smithsonian along with Barack Obama and John McCain and in March 2020 Palin was under the mask of “Bear”. in the third season of the US edition of “The Masked Singer” and was unmasked right after its first appearance.
