Russia’s domestic secret service FSB says it has arrested a German citizen in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad for allegedly planning acts of sabotage.
Russian news agencies reported on Wednesday that it was a man from Hamburg, born in 1967.
When he entered the Russian exclave in the Baltic Sea from Poland, 50 grams of liquid explosives were seized in his car. According to a report by broadcaster Rossiya 24, it was put into shampoo bottles for camouflage.
Ukrainians mediated
News agency Ria Novosti reported that the man had received the order to attack from a Ukrainian who also lived in Hamburg. The arrested man also confessed to carrying out an explosive attack on a gas distribution station in the Kaliningrad region in March this year. There was initially no independent confirmation of this information.
