Russian forces launched this Thursday “against factories and critical infrastructure” in the city Dnipro (central Ukraine) a intercontinental ballistic missile, the first in this waranother Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile and seven Kh-101 cruise missiles, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to this source, the intercontinental missile was launched from the Russian region of Astrakhan, in the south of Russia.
On his Telegram channel, Andri Kovalenko, head of the Counter-Disinformation Center of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated that Astrakhan is under attack with drones. “Dnipro, resist. The Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation is already under attack with drones,” he noted.
The Ukrainian defense has managed to bring down six of the seven Kh-101 cruise missilebut they didn’t intercept it intercontinental ballistic missile nor the aeroballistic one Kh-47M2 Kinzhaltwo of the most advanced missiles in the Russian arsenal.
The Ukrainian air force said the unfired rockets did not cause “substantial” damage.
Earlier, authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk region, of which Dnipro is the capital, reported that a massive attack on the region caused damage to “an industrial infrastructure” in the city.
The attack comes after Ukraine attacked Russian territory with British and American missiles. The Kremlin considers a “new climb” the attacks carried out this week on targets on Russian territory with Western long-range missiles.
