In almost all states – with the exception of Styria and Upper Austria – rents have risen this year. Between January and November, Carinthia recorded the strongest price increase of 16 percent.
An average rent for a 70 square meter apartment in Tyrol is currently 1,400 euros, which is 74 percent more expensive than in Upper Austria (804 euros).
- In Carinthia The price per square meter for the rental apartments offered on ImmoScout24 increased from 12.2 euros to 14.1 euros, but remains below 1000 euros for 70 square meters.
- Tyrol recorded a price increase of 11 percent – at 20 euros per square meter, the price per square meter is the highest here.
- The federal states were among the most expensive rental areas in Austria Vienna with 19.2 euros per square meter (plus 11 percent), Salzburgerland with 18.3 euros per square meter (plus nine percent) and Vorarlberg at 18 euros per square meter (plus four percent).

The cheapest rental properties were found in St. Pölten (12.8 euros per square meter), Graz (13.4 euros per square meter) and Eisenstadt (13.5 euros per square meter).
In Vienna, rents rose by eleven percent. The Donaustadt district in Vienna recorded the largest increase at 25 percent (21.8 euros per square meter), followed by Alsergrund (21 euros per square meter).
In Brigittenau, Liesing and Mariahilf, rents did not increase or only increased very slightly. In Floridsdorf, demand for rental apartments increased by 75 percent.
