Horrible industrial accident in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 34-year-old Croat got stuck in a milling machine at a company in Jenbach (Schwaz district). His hand had been cut off! The seriously injured man himself went to the team leader, who immediately made an emergency call.
The accident had already occurred on Friday evening. According to the police, the 34-year-old observed a fully automatic woodworking machine so that he could immediately switch it off if any malfunctions occurred.
At around 7:45 p.m., the worker suddenly stuck his right hand into the milling machine for an unknown reason. “The Croat’s hand was cut off,” is how the researchers described the terrible scenes.
The team leader sounded the alarm
The seriously injured man was able to drag himself to his colleague and then to the team leader, who immediately initiated the rescue chain, the report said.
After initial treatment on site, the 34-year-old was taken by ambulance to Innsbruck University Hospital.
